There was a lovely welcome as people arrived for our traditional service of Lessons and Carols to welcome Christmas.

Our thanks to Mr Derek Walker for installing the floodlighting.

The new name for Buggy Praise is

with St Peter being a fisherman what better name could there be!

Ben & Adeela Searle's Wedding on
Saturday July 2nd 2016

A lovely sunny, warm day was ordered for the wedding of Adeela and Ben on Saturday 2nd July and it was granted. Before the service all the preparations were completed, the church was ready, everyone in place. The groom, Ben, said to me that the rings were being brought to church by the bride's step-father - would I bring them to the front as we processed in.  I went outside to greet the bride but the rings hadn't been found - they'd been mislaid. The bride's mum lent her ring to Adeela and one of the best men lent his ring for Ben. The service was a lovely celebration of their marriage - friends and family read various readings from the Bible and the Koran, a poem was read by Jemima the daughter of Ben and Adeela and Milica played the guitar. The vows were made and the rings given and received. Ben and Adeela left St Peter's for photographs in the churchyard.
After photographs the wedding party travelled to the house for the reception. A search was made for the rings
and they were found - they had inadvertently been moved and placed in the recycle bin!! We quickly gathered guests around - the rings were blessed and exchanged in the garden! What a story to tell in the years to come!
The Best Men were James and Simon and the Bridesmaids were Jaime, Yasmine and Aliyah.
We pray for Ben and Adeela, their children Jemima and Sebastian for God's blessing on their new life together in the years to come.

Service to Celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's 90th birthday.
A joyful service was held on Sunday 12th June to celebrate and give thanks for The Queen as the nation remembered her 90th birthday. We had special Bible readings, prayers and hymns to help. The service ended with Sunday Club children coming in to share what they had been doing  and to offer prayers for The Queen. After we shared in prosecco and specially decorated cake. 90 candles were lit on the lady chapel altar formed to portray
E 11 R and the flower display used red, white and blue blooms.

Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this celebration joyful and thankful.

Piano Recital - Saturday May 21st 2016
Everyone was delighted and entertained by the Recital given by our organist Mrs Heather Williams.
It was a superb evening of music and we are very grateful for all the work that Heather and her husband Simon did to prepare for and present what was a very special evening. Thanks to the many others helped with all kinds of practical details and others sponsored the piano which was brought into church.

Thank you Heather!
